Tales from the Hood: Sisters Grimm Book 6 by Michael Buckley ISBN 9780810994782
Ahh — after all the books in the series and the trouble with the scarlet hand we are finally defining the lines of battle. This is wonderful! We loved this book and eagerly await the next one — which because no one seems to own it in Connecticut we have to buy. I figure once it is in the library system, other libraries will want to borrow it from us! We finally determine how the Big Bad Wolf became the monster that he was and we also know that Robin Hood and his Merry Men will join the ranks on the side of Relda Grimm and her family. L.J. Lanser continues his excellent narration and the series is just wonderful.
One of the great things about this series is that you can easily start discussions based on scenes from this book. My kids and I had a great discussion on the characters of Sabrina and Daphne — for one seems all good and one seems to not have very many redeeming qualities. My son, only 11 but I am biased enough to think he is brilliant, said “well Sabrina doesn’t seem very nice but she needs to be this way for the story.” In my opinion Sabrina’s only great quality is her loyalty and love of family. She can’t handle magic (which for a Grimm seems to be a bad thing), she isn’t very honest, and doesn’t treat people well. Yet you always hope that she will do the right thing and sometimes she does. I think that this series is just great and everyone she should listen to this wonderful rendition for you can find so many links to so many other stories that it always leads to wonderful dialogues!

Is there any truth to the story told by Little Red Riding Hood? What’s the deal with all that huffing and puffing? Will Mr. Canis be forced to answer for his crimes?
A kangaroo court of Everafters, led by the cruel Queen of Hearts, is determined to find Canis guilty and force the Grimms out of Ferryport Landing. Meanwhile, Puck has decided to focus more on his mischievous ways, making a few new troublemaker friends. So it’s up to Sabrina and Daphne to find evidence to save Canis—and their investigation may reveal more than they hoped.
Readers have embraced the first five books in the series, and this gripping courtroom drama won’t disappoint.
